Runaway Train – WA’s gas industry and what it means for the climate

Thursday, 7 November 2019
State Library Theatre, Perth
6:15 pm – 8:15 pm AWST

We’re pleased to present groundbreaking new research that lifts the lid on WA’s biggest polluters and the impact that rapidly rising emissions from the WA LNG industry is having on Australia’s international commitments to reducing carbon pollution.

This informative session will explore the key findings of the report and look to answer some of the big questions around the scale and impact of carbon pollution from WA’s LNG industry.

Together, we will discuss what are the key trends in WA’s carbon pollution, as well as what are our biggest carbon pollution sources. The session will also consider how WA’s biggest polluters are affecting our international commitments to reduce carbon pollution, and highlight the opportunity that exists for these large polluters to play a positive role in job creation and in making WA a clean energy state.
